Good Points:
Great picture quality, great battery life, camera has a good solid feel
to it.
Bad Points:
It's fairly large by todays compact camera standards
General Comments:
This Sony DSC-P72 is my second digital camera, my first one being the
Fuji A303. This one is far better in terms of features and battery life.
The picture is excellent and it takes pics pretty fast. The video mode
is brill too, with good sound and playback through the TV. Can't really
fault this camera apart from its size, its fairly bulky, but it does
feel solid and sturdy which i like. Overall i'm very impressed.

General Comments:
I gave away my slightly older Sony DSC-P51 to my nephew in Indonesia
when I was there last month. As a result, I need a replacement it.
My first requirement is that the camera should run on AA batteries,
just like the DSC-P51. This is required for easy replacement of the
battery in case it run over energy when we need it.
I browse several cameras with different brands, but I
finally kept my choice to Sony, this one a DSC-P72. It gives me 3 MegaPixel,
with 3 times optical, a video mode (with sound!), and more importantly
run on the AA batteries!
It feels good, easy to operate, faster than the P-51,
nicely priced, good quality pictures (and videos) and its a SONY!
The only downside is that you deffinitely need more memory.
I just bought a 128 MB, but still thinking to have more! You can't leave
this camera doing nothing!

General Comments:
These things are great, very user friendly, compact & effective.
Printing straight to full A4 size without enhancing the photos through
Photoshop (or similar) is fine, they come out perfectly, given a decent
printer & good paper.
The downside. All the manufacturers (not just Sony) are a little cheap
when it comes to standard memory. The original memory stick only hold
10 max resolution pics. You could turn down the resolution, but if you
are happy with that, save some cash & buy a 2MP camera.
Conclusion. If you want to buy this camera (& I would
advise you do) you should take into account the cost of a decent sized
memory stick too remembering that unlike a 35mm, you can't just go into
Boots & get another film if you run out of space. Think how many
pics you would take on a 2 week holiday & get a card to suit. I
went for 256Mb for 170+ full resolution photos or up to 11 minutes full
VGA video with sound.

General Comments:
A few weeks after purchase a Sony digital camera DSC-P72 (from a reputable
store) it stopped working. Sony service centre refused to fix it (actually
it offered a repair for three times its original price!) saying the
camera had water damage. They blamed me! Though I always handled it
with great care. Someone at the Visa claims centre said she heard similar
stories about Sony products. It's a pattern. I'd be wary about buy anything
from Sony!!!
